  hi guys.

  my brother who was also raised in "the truth™" met me in town today for a coffee.

  Sorry Pale Emperor for all this stress you and your brother are going through. I have no advice but I know you will always do the right thing concerning your brother. You know what the cult is all about and this is your super power over those who are still trap in that cult. You have already demonstrated your self control and kindness in helping your brother from past post and I feel positive you will figure this all out. Take care of yourself we will be thinking of you.   i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.

  i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.

  Welcome Mathew. I was what you call a born-in. Served as a elder for 25 years. Left with my wife in 2011 at the age of 56. What everyone has said is the truth and I cannot add anything else to it. Please do your research. Take care and good luck to you. Still Totally ADD

  i believe that i have a good cause to sue the organization.

  but i know that they have crafted themselves a legal loophole infinite loop.

  so i was thinking that i should just sue the congregation that i know fucked me over.

  This may help. After 5 years or so the elders are instructed to destory pub. cards in there files. This may have changed since I was a elders. Hope this helps. Still Totally ADD

  Flipper what you just said is very true. His death stop progress in race relations in so many ways. Sunday my wife and I had the chance to listen to Professor Heron Simmons-Price. He is a Professor of political science at Canisius College in Buffalo. He is a leader in his community on racial problems for decades. I ask the question how can we help by bridging the Gap between races? His answer was just show kindness .

  Professor Simmons-Price is Jamaica born. He knows what racism is. He has lived it. But he stressed to me showing kindness to everyone is his biggest weapon in bringing people of different races together. His answer was so simple but so effective. I will never forget this instruction he gave me. Thank you for bringing this subject up. Take care my friend. Still Totally ADD

  My 71st Birthday Confessional

  i was born january 15, 1947in mt.

  carmel hospital, detroit, michigan.. within six months of my birth, my mother would bundle her baby boy into a blanket and board an american airlines propeller-driven plane--in effect, leaving my father behind--to return to her hometown, ft. worth, texas.. my dad had an excellent job working for cadillac as an inspector.

  How about everyone is allowed to get all the higher education they can get. Work more to make all the money you can and don't worry about missing meetings and going out in field service. Oral sex and masterbation is good for you and sex before marriage is OK as long as you get married to each other. My 10 cents worth. Still Totally ADD

  some of my old jw friends are sickly and getting on in age.

  so far, i’ve only gone to my mother’s memorial and have avoided the kingdom hall altogether.... your thoughts please?.

  I have only one parent. My mother who treated my wife and me so badly for several years using the so called truth as a weapon. I will not attend her funeral. She will be 95 this April and does not even know who I am or anyone else. If my brother wants to give her a memorial I won't be there.

  Someone said we need to show respect towards our parents for giving us life. But when abuse from them was a every day thing I feel the respectful thing to do was not be there. Still Totally ADD

  Anyone struggle to find meaning in life?

  just wondering if this is a common thing for you guys and girls?

  when i left the jws it was hard to make a connection with people, much of the time i felt that whatever they wanted to talk about just didn't seem relevant/deep/meaningful.

  i find myself filtering my mind to get to a level with others (small talk mostly).

  Like punkofnice I feel in many ways that people are a virus on this Earth. Then I read something very beautiful by someone or hear a piece of music another composed or played. People who work hard to make life better for all of life on Earth. Making connection with people of different backgrounds and helping others in any way I can gives me comfort.

  Living in the dream world of the Borg for most of my life and then leaving it has taken it's toll in finding meaning in life. But I am in many ways a eternal optimist With the freedom to use my mind now I enjoy life more now than ever. This is what keeps me going.

  My heart goes out to all of you who struggle with the meaning of life. My Hope is you find a place in your life that gives you meaning. Remember the Borg took our authentic personality from us and it is up to each of us to find who we really are. Good luck to all of us in our struggles. Still Totally ADD
